Case Study: Tom Narrowed His Niche And Grew His Revenue By 155%

Tom Killen is an executive coach. He runs a company called Core Leadership, where he helps leaders take on great levels of responsibility. Here’s his story…

What made you want to work with Greg?

I reached out to Greg at an interesting time in my business. Really a pivot point. I was working as both a career coach and an executive coach.

I had just finished a big contract that had ended with a company and needed help with marketing. I knew I needed to increase my understanding, learn some practices that worked for me so that I can really make this business as effective as possible.

Didn’t really have any concerns about working with Greg. It is a big investment, so I wanted to make sure that the investment was going to be a good investment for me and my business.

What was the experience like?

Two things about working with Greg really resonated with me:

One is his interpersonal style and his coaching style. He is very direct. He asks great questions as a coach, and he also just tells me like it is, which is really important to me with where I am in my business. I didn't want there to be anything held back. I wanted to know exactly what he thought and he conveyed exactly what he thought.

The second thing is that he knows what he's talking about. He has used these techniques and strategies that he recommends himself, and I was able to learn through the videos. And then, in our one-on-one sessions, Greg was able to help me apply what I learned.

I'm taking so many things away from this engagement with Greg. So it's hard to nail it down to one thing. But one of the things that stands out to me is just the need to plant consistent seeds for the future, even while you're harvesting for the present. We will all want business now, which is important, so there are strategies that we use to do that, tactics we use to get business now. But we need to be thinking long-term and planting those seeds, and that's something that I'll continue to work on even after this engagement is complete.

What specific results have you achieved?

Since working with Greg, I was able to really generate several times the investment in terms of revenue with my business. So that's number one. I achieved the whole point of going through this process with Greg.

Also, I was able to get clear on what type of coaching I wanted to do. I was really debating between career coaching and executive coaching, and I was able to kind of nail it down that executive coaching is where I want to be.

Also, I learned things that I can continue to do on an ongoing basis that will help me be a better marketer.

Would you recommend working with Greg?

I think Greg was the perfect solution for me at this stage in my business and where I am, and I'm glad that we worked together, and I think if it hadn't been for him, I wouldn't have had the results I had at the end of last year. And also, I wouldn't have learned the things that I've learned that can help me in the future.

You should work with Greg if you are someone like me, who really wants someone who knows what they're talking about, and will share that with you, but also do a good job of coaching you along the way and helping you understand how to apply this in your own business. I had a very unique situation, at least in my view, that's different from maybe some of Greg's other clients, and I felt like Greg really helped me customize the learnings to what I'm doing. If that's interesting to you, then at least book a call with him, talk through it, see if it's right for you.
